Salary guides

A benchmark you can actually set a budget against.

We do not publish blanket salary tables. Ranges that blend company types, cities and seniority bands are directionally interesting and practically useless, so we build benchmarks per role instead.
Methodology

How we build a benchmark

Five steps, applied to every compensation question a client brings us.

  1. 01

    Define the comparison set

We start from the five to eight companies you would genuinely hire this person from, not the sector as a whole. Sector-wide averages blend company types that pay on completely different curves.

  2. 02

Fix the level, not the title

Job titles are not comparable across companies. We benchmark against scope: team size, budget, decision rights and reporting line.

  3. 03

    Separate fixed, variable and equity

Two offers with identical headline numbers can differ substantially. We report fixed pay, target variable, actual variable paid in recent years, and equity conventions separately.

  4. 04

    Adjust for city

The same role can differ by 30% or more between Bengaluru and Indore. Every benchmark is stated for a specific location.

  5. 05

    State the confidence

Where our sample is thin, we say so. A benchmark presented with false precision is worse than an honest range.

Coverage

What we can benchmark

Any role in a sector and city we cover. Benchmarks are provided as part of a search engagement, or standalone on request.

Request a benchmark

Tell us the role and the city

Describe the role you are budgeting for, including the companies you would hire from. We will come back with a benchmark and an honest note on how confident we are in it.
