About the opportunity
Reports to the Engineering Manager within a delivery organisation of around eighty engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and delivery for a pod of six to eight engineers
- Own architecture decisions and their documentation
- Raise engineering standards through review, testing and CI discipline
- Work with product and client stakeholders on scope and sequencing
Requirements
- Eight or more years in backend engineering, largely Java
- Experience leading a team technically, including code review and mentoring
- Strong grounding in distributed systems and integration patterns
- Cloud deployment experience on any major platform
